Today I found out that the cufon I used in a project was slowing down the site. After a short google search i found the problem...
After applying the Cufon.now() function directly before the /body tag, the page was still slow and the "cufonized" titles still flickered. Something that shouldn't happen anymore. When googling for this problem, I found a discussion on Google Groups on this problem. One of the last replies in this topic was stating that CSS files should always be loaded before any scripts (inline or external).
After a further google search I found a short but clear article on this subject:
